Born 24th July 1958 in an illustrious family of Bangalore, India. Father S Venkat Ram [late] was a veteran socialist, trade union leader and writer. Three of his books are published and one of which “Pradakshine” a travelogue in Kannada won the prestigious Karnataka Saahitya Academy Award. He fought against the imposition of emergency and was one of the important Karnataka leaders imprisoned during 1975 – 1977. He also represented India at ILO, Geneva during 1979. His sudden death in 1981 was a serious personal setback for me. However, he continues to be my sole guiding spirit.
My mother late Saroja Venkatram also served one term as Dy. Mayor of Bangalore, India.
After completing my graduation in science from St Joseph’s college, Bangalore [1978], I did my MBA from Karnataka University, securing 3rd rank [1980].
Professionally I have over 28 years of hardcore management experience in all aspects of management in a variety of Industries including FMCG, Industrial marketing, Media and Publishing. Currently based at Dubai, my focus in the last fifteen years has been on Media and Publishing.
My Wife Anita and Son Varun, a budding music director, have been of great support in all my endeavors and are the apple of my eyes.
